Oct 04, 2024 - FASSelangor FC took three points in the AFC Champions League Two (ACL2) 2024/25 Group H match yesterday against Dynamic Herb Cebu F.C. with a 1-0 result at MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya, Malaysia.
In the previous match, he assisted Selangor FC's import striker, Ronnie Fernandez, this time Yohandry Orozco scored a goal for the Red Giants squad against the Gentle Giants (Cebu F.C.) yesterday in the 10th minute. The two Selangor FC import players linked up with each other to ensure the Merah Kuning squad scored the winning goal.
Nidzam Jamil, Head Coach of Selangor FC, is confident that the team is on the right track with yesterday's win.
"For me, the team took four points in two games, I wouldn't say this is the best result but this is definitely a good start for us after 8 years of not competing in this high level tournament. The expectations from many parties are naturally high, but in football, results are important, and yesterday we got the first three points in ACLTWO 2024/25, I thank the players for their hard work,"
"Based on the match, yes, we should have scored more goals but for me if we don't create chances, this will be the real problem for the team. When you create chances, you create opportunities for results, the more chances created, gives the team more hope. Adding to that, the opposing team were very disciplined especially in defending and in the second half they almost scored the equaliser but the players managed to prevent it." explained Nidzam Jamil.
From the #SFCDHC match in the AFC Champions League Two (ACL2) 2024/25 yesterday, some important things can be seen, such as:-
AFC chose Yohandry Orozco as MoTM
AFC once again chose a Selangor FC player as the MoTM but this time it belonged to Yohandry Orozco, a Selangor FC import player. Two years with the Red Giants, Orozco has always translated his importance in the team with consistent good performances, not only in the Malaysian League but in ACLTWO 2024/25 as well. When Orozco is in action, beautiful and accurate passes that can lead to goals will always come from him.
The presence of Nikola Jambor and Mohammad Abualnadi
Nikola Jambor or Niko and Mohammad Abualnadi or Abualnadi are two new players in the Red Giants squad that were signed before the transfer window deadline. Both of them were in action in yesterday's #SFCDHC match. According to Nidzam Jamil, "Niko and Abulanadi were able to make their debuts yesterday. Niko honestly brings something new to the team, one of the elements we need from a midfielder. Meanwhile, Abualnadi, we did prepare him for this tournament, as a young player, he has already started to understand the game pattern that we apply here. I am confident that he will show his strengths in the near future."
So far, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors is still leading Group H with six full points, followed by Selangor FC in second place with four points, then Muangthong United F.C. with one point and Cebu F.C. in fourth place.
The Malaysian League will take a short break to make way for the FIFA Calendar. Selangor FC will resume their schedule on 19 October against PDRM FC for the 12th Super League competition at 5:30 pm at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium.
Selangor FC are grateful to the 8,158 supporters who came to enliven the MBPJ Stadium yesterday even though the match took place on a weekday. We really appreciate your presence.
Selangor FC management is confident that the team will continue to show progress from time to time. Come on, my Red Giant!
Demi Kebanggaan!
